Seeing as I'm sitting here waiting for Monday and getting bored, I thought I'd update my English speaking side, or do something.
Ingmar and I arrived OK in Honningsvåg, but it wasn't without it's moments.
We had an hour from landing in Oslo to get our next flight. That was OK, but no one told us we should collected our luggage and go through customs.
There were moments, but we jumped queues and got there.
It's not a good idea to look out the window of the plane and see them handling your luggage.
Thursday morning after breakfast we put our bikes together and I had a look at the weather forecast. We decided to cycle to NordKapp today. (It was a good move as Friday the weather was worse.) It was a slow 30K. We had strong head and cross winds and it rained. Our average speed up was 16.2Kph.
Once at NordKapp we signed a log book that all cyclists are asked to sign.
We got ourselves a hot drink and looked out over the fog.
We went outside again and got the usual photos, the wind was cold.
By the time we were ready to cycle back the weather had cleared and we had a tail wind.
The decents turned out to be not so bad as I'd feared, mainly because it had stopped raining.
The ride back was a lot better, we had even put on more clothing which wasn't needed as we stopped on the first climb and removed some.
We showered and got dinner. Ingmar disappeared after dinner and I chatted with a cyclist from Belguim. When I got back to the room Ingmar was in bed and said he wasn't feeling well.
I left the room again so as to leave him in peace. When I came back an hour or so later, he sasked me to help him to the toilet. He had trouble keeping his balance. When we got back to the room I asked Ingmar if I shouldn't get a doctor, I got a no answer, but I felt something just didn't feel right. I phoned Nina, the woman who runs the NordKapp Hostel, she phoned the hospital and then came and collected us. At the hospital they did some tests and said they wanted to more tests and that Ingmar had to go to Hammerfest.
I've spoken to Ingmar a couple of times and they are going to keep him in Hammerfest until Monday when they get the test results back.
Back to the rideOne of the last things Ingmar said was to replan the ride down to Riksgrænsen.
This I've done by cutting out the ride into Finland where we were to stay 2 nights.
With Nina's help I rebooked the next 2 overnight stops. So I will still be in Riksgrænsen on the 9th.
All going well Ingmar is to come back to Honningsvåg and collect his bike and take a bus down to Riksgrænsen.
Fingers crossed Ingmar.
